The Kallichoron Art Boutique Hotel is supporting the “Astypalea in Passion” initiative and is inviting all to experience the island’s beauties, culture and gastronomy during the upcoming May Day holiday. Launched by the AELIA career empowerment lab and supported by the island’s residents, the initiative includes a number of events set to take place on Astypalea from April 28 until May 1 to promote the island’s tourism offerings. “We’ve been proudly supporting the ‘Asypalea in Passion’ initiative in our aim to promote the island as a ‘passionate’ year-round destination,” the hotel’s management said in an announcement. The events will host special guests including Greek chef Alexandros Papandreou; food blogger Madame Ginger – Marilou Pantaki; yoga instructor and wellness blogger Lady Papaya – Niki Hagia, and creative communicator and actor Alex Kavdas. “Our contribution to the progress and prosperity of the local community is a way of life and an integral part of our philosophy,” the hotel’s management said. Greek ferry company Blue Star Ferries is also supporting the initiative by offering a 50 percent discount on tickets to Astypalaia for departure from Piraeus on April 26 or April 28 and return during May 1-3. The hotel has supported a number of actions such as improving the recreational facilities at the Astypalea kindergarten; the purchase of books for the island’s kindergarten lending library; the coordination of a painting event for children with artist Gefso Papadaki; the participation of pupils in the children’s book reading competition “Vivliodromies 2018”; a collaboration with Geitonas School in efforts to develop educational activities; and the establishment of an event hall at the Astypalea high school and lyceum, which is currently underway. Located in a very close distance to Astypalea’s main town, Kallichoron Art Boutique Hotel offers a breathtaking view of the island’s landscape, including the majestic Venetian castle, the famous old white windmills and the boundless Aegean Sea.
