The Athens Municipality is inviting cycling enthusiasts, racing teams and professional athletes to participate in the event to take place on Sunday, April 29. Online registration is open until Friday, April 27, at 10 pm on www.opanda.gr. The city’s 25th Athens Bicycle Round includes a 13 km route that will kick off at 10 am from Ermou street at Syntagma Square and a 3.5 km route that will begin at 10.30 am from Amalias Avenue in front of Greek Parliament. The bicycle round will be followed by the 1st Folding Challenge, a race for folding bikes only. Photo Source: @OPANDA (John Calyvas) Skirt Ride ladies will join the fun The ladies of the Skirt Ride, an initiative created by female cyclists, will also participate in the 25th Athens Bicycle Round, wearing their best, from shorts and t-shirts to dresses and high heels. “They always remind us that cycling in the city is all about smiles, fun, simplicity and style,” the City of Athens said in an announcement. The 25th Athens Bicycle Round is organized by the Athens Municipality’s Cultural, Sport & Youth Organization (OPANDA). It is also part of the Bike Weekend which will be held on April 28-29, at Syntagma square and will include bicycle exhibitions, shows and happenings for children and adults.
