Aria Hotels’ Chania Art Exhibition Becomes Talk of the Town

The Aria Concept Store of the Aria Hotels group, recently inaugurated its first group exhibition in the old town of Chania on Crete, attracting the interest of some 150 art lovers from Greece and abroad.

“The opening has been a great success and (the exhibition) instantly became the talk of the town,” Aria Hotels said in an announcement. Titled ‘The Harbor” and curated by art historian Maria Migadi, the exhibition includes 30 paintings, created by nine Greek artists.

During the opening event, the guests had the opportunity to admire the artwork and meet the artists. Evi Vaitsi and Jessica Scott Mavroudi, who run the gallery along with Maria Migadi and the Aria Art Buzz team, were there to guide guests through the exhibition. Aria Hotels and Aria Art Buzz board members were also present.

‘’We believe that the creative vision of the artists will inspire visitors and start interesting and meaningful conversations related to the unique cultural footprint of our country,’’ Maria Migadi said.

The guests also got a taste of delicious local finger food served by the Alcanea Boutique Hotel, a member of Aria Hotels, along with Nomada’s Honey Soda, an award-winning beverage made of natural ingredients including Cretan honey and Sicilian lemons.

The exhibition is taking place under the auspices of the Aria Art Buzz, the art initiative of Aria Hotels aiming to promote Greek artists, which is also part of the Libra Group. It will run until June 20.

Founded in 2017,  the Aria Concept Store is a unique art gallery of high-aesthetics, operating all year round with the aim to showcase the work of contemporary artists from Greece and abroad, who are inspired by Greek culture and tradition.

Focusing on Crete’s special features, the Aria Concept Store is currently collaborating with the Benaki Art Shop, the Al Hammam Thermal Baths in Chania, and the Martix Fine Art Advisory Business.
