The GIFTTS (Great Initiatives for Today’s [Tomorrow’s] Society) program aims to recognize member hotels of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts that offer genuine hospitality and show an outstanding commitment to philanthropy, community, sustainability, and education. More than 118 properties were nominated in 2018 for their exemplary efforts in the four GIFTTS categories. NJV Athens Plaza was awarded in the Philanthropy category. Offering high-quality hospitality services since 1980, NJV Athens Plaza, located at central Syntagma Square, welcomes visitors from all over the world. It includes 162 rooms and 18 suites offering high standard amenities; venues suitable for meetings, events and conferences that can host up to 350 persons; the a la carte restaurant “The Parliament” offering Mediterranean cuisine; “The Explorer’s Bar” and the “Plaza Café”. The hotel is currently running a renovation program that begun in 2010, under a budget of 5 million euros.
