The PPA is a partner in the ongoing “Sustainable Ports in the Adriatic-Ionian Region” (SUPAIR) project which will run through to December 2019. Co-financed by the Adriatic-Ionian INTERREG V-B Transnational 2014-2020 program, the 24-month project aims to slash emissions from shipping and onshore port operations through the creation of a transnational network of port authorities, which will work together to develop action plans and commit to actions that will lead to low-carbon and multimodal transport and mobility solutions. Other program partners include the port authorities of Trieste, Koper, Venice, Durres, Thessaloniki and Bar (Montenegro), as well as academic and scientific institutions. OLP’s first activity in this direction was held in April, with the participation of port stakeholders who discussed the challenges and opportunities of moving ahead with sustainable strategies and activities within the port.
