Photo Source: @Istanbul Ataturk Airport – IST Turkish Airlines is offering its layover service “touristanbul” free of charge to its international passengers traveling through Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport, providing them with the opportunity to visit some of the city’s landmark sites. According to an announcement, Turkish Airlines passengers with a six- to 24-hour stopover in Istanbul will be able to tour the city for free. Since its launch in 2009 more than 250,000 have used the touristanbul service. The service offers transportation and access to some of the city’s historic landmark sites, as well as a unique culinary experience of Turkish cuisine. “Passengers will be able to discover the history and cultural fusion that have made Istanbul a vibrant charming city,” Turkish Airlines said. The tours of touristanbul depart daily from the Hotel Desk at the Istanbul Ataturk Airport and take place from 8.30 am to 11 am (return); from 9 am to 3 pm; from 9 am to 6 pm; from 12 pm to 6 pm and from 4 pm to 9 pm. The tour features some of Istanbul’s most significant sites including the Topkapi Palace, the Sultan Ahmet Mosque, Agia Sophia, the Grand Bazaar, the Galata Tower, the Dolmabahce Palace and more.
