Through the new platform, tourism professionals – including tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers and villa owners – can choose from over 500 activities in Greece, Croatia and Cyprus, and book directly, earning a 10 percent commission per booking. The platform has a user-friendly design, while registration is free. “This is a new sales tool designed not only as an income generator for tourism professionals, but also as a convenient value-enhancing addition to the services they offer to their customers,” said Travelgems founder Niki Smirni. “At Travelgems we have established a sophisticated selection method that ensures the offer of innovative, high quality and reliable activity proposals in the countries we operate. The new platform is an effective and time efficient tool that connects the activity providers with the tourism market,” she added. The new platform has been developed by Tooristas, a company offering integrated reservation management solutions to tourism professionals. Travelgems is a web platform operating as a “virtual concierge” for travelers. Using input from extensive research in Greece, Croatia and Cyprus, the platform offers custom-made services by designing personalized travel guides, also taking into account the profile and needs of each traveler. The platform currently offers information on more than 8,000 activities for travelers, which include restaurants, beaches, beach bars and nightlife.
