“A German lady cooks tzatziki,
a Swede makes dako,
a kid from Holland rides “Maritsa”, a nice donkey,
and all together dance pentozali during a traditional feast… Our guests lived as Cretans for a day!” – Creta Maris Beach Resort

The Creta Maris Beach Resort, located on Crete, recently held the “We do Local Days” thematic event, inviting its guests to live like a Cretan for a day.

Inspired by the “We do local” initiative, a number of activities were held, which provided the resort’s guests with the opportunity to experience the everyday habits and activities of the locals.

This first thematic day included an interactive cooking class and a Greek language lesson, while Creta Maris’ little guests enjoyed rides with Maritsa, the donkey of the Creta Maris farm.

In the evening a genuine Cretan feast was held with traditional music and dances.

“All guests were impressed and felt lucky for having the opportunity to experience the authentic Greek hospitality, taste the famous Cretan gastronomy and become familiar with the culture and traditions of the island,” the hotel’s management said in an announcement.

The Creta Maris Beach Resort is located in Hersonissos on the island of Crete. It is part of the Metaxas Group of Companies and has been operating since 1975. It includes 680 rooms, suites and bungalows, six restaurants, seven bars, seven swimming pools, a gym, a hammam spa, the Asterias Children’s Club and spacious facilities for outdoor and indoor activities.
