Ellinair is based in Thessaloniki and operates scheduled and charter flights to Greece mainly from Russian cities. Photo source: Ellinair According to the airline, during the January-April period, passengers amounted to 137,992, up by 57 percent compared to the same period of 2017 (88,123 passengers). The airlines offered seats reached 198,540, which were filled by 70 percent. During the first four months of the year, Ellinair operated 1,257 flights, compared with 949 during the same period in 2017. “The progress of the company in the first four months of the year confirms our expectations for a passenger increase of 34 percent in 2018, which in total means that 1,061,029 travelers will choose our flights,” Ellinair’s director, Stavros Daliakas, said. Ellinair this year has 8,504 flights planned (21 percent increase over 2017) with a total of 1,355,082 seats, up 32 percent compared to last year. In 2017, the airline operated 7,042 flights, with 1,027,548 seats and 792,096 passengers. Last year, Ellinair passengers increased by 40 percent, compared to 2016.
