As the summer season nears, the Halkidiki Tourism Organization (HTO) has already moved ahead with a series of actions for the further promotion of the northern Greece destination with FAM and press trips.

In the previous months, the HTO welcomed press representatives from Russia, Germany, and Australia. It also hosted reporters from Qatar on occasion of the launch of direct flights from Doha to Thessaloniki by Qatar Airways.

The journalists had the chance to visit major sites in the region and go on an off-road tour of Halkidiki’s more remote villages, visit its olive oil and cheese production units as well as sample local cuisine.

Halkidikis thermal springs, local products, culinary traditions and gastronomy festivals featured in Falstaff magazine, BILD, and The New Destination Network, among others.

The HTO arranges press trips focusing on the promotion of the Halkidiki region as a prime tourist destination offering a wide variety of experiences and activities for the restless traveler including sailing, a day cruise of the Mt Athos peninsula, which is also an UNESCO World Heritage Site, hiking the path of Aristotle and yachting.
