The areas of Zapio, Agios Panteleimonas, Petralona, Avdi square, Pagkrati and Syntagma Square are some of the locations the library will visit in June. The mobile library will be traveling around Athens throughout the year-long World Book Capital celebrations. Through an automated system, the library offers the opportunity to the residents and visitors of Athens to become members and borrow up to two books at a time, without a charge. Books offered are in Greek, English and French. With the slogan “Books Everywhere”, the 2018 World Book Capital initiative kicked off in Athens in April, aiming to inspire and motivate with over 250 book-related events, including reading happenings, seminars and conferences, workshops and competitions, activities for adults and children. The mobile library will travel the streets of Athens with the support of the municipality’s Cultural, Sport & Youth Organization (OPANDA) and the Municipal Library of Veria.
