Air Travel Flynas Launches Direct Flights to Athens from Riyadh by GTP editing team 11 June 2018 written by GTP editing team 11 June 2018 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 12 Flynas, the national low-cost carrier of Saudi Arabia, has announced the launch of new direct flights between Athens and Riyadh as of June. The new route is part of the airline’s strategy for global expansion in 2018, which also aims to strengthen international connectivity for passengers traveling to long-haul destinations. The direct flights to Athens will commence on June 13, operating with two weekly flights every Wednesday and Friday, aboard flynas’ new fleet of A320-neo aircraft. Flights from Riyadh will depart at 9.20 am and arrive in Athens at 1.30 pm, while the return flights from Athens will depart at 2.20 pm and arrive in Riyadh at 6.30 pm. Flights to Athens are available for booking through all of flynas’ booking platforms, the official flynas website and the carrier’s general sales agent in Greece, Gold Star Aviation. Flynas will soon join the BSP (Billing and Settlement Plan) in Greece. Established in 2007, the low-cost carrier has a fleet of 30 Airbus A320 aircraft, operating over 1,100 flights weekly. It flies to 17 domestic destinations including Jedddah, Gurayat, Dammam, Gizan, Gurayat, Jeddah, Medina and Riyadh, and 53 international destinations including Alexandria, Assiut, Sohag and Aswan in Egypt; Adana, Istanbul and Antakya in Turkey; Athens in Greece; Baghdad in Iraq; Beirut in Lebanon and Dubai in the UAE. Since its launch, flynas has successfully carried more than 38 million passengers from its bases of Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Abha.
