Greek airline Sky Express on Thursday announced the launch of three new daily flights connecting Athens to Chania, Crete.

The new route, which will begin on November 1, is expected to allow the airline to further develop its network and its presence throughout Crete, which it connects with many other destinations in Greece.

“We continue our growth path, growing our network and our fleet and increase passenger traffic by effectively supporting the local communities, tourism and the country’s economy,” the airline’s CEO, Haris Botsaris, said during an event organized by Fraport Greece in Chania.

According to Botsaris, Sky Express has the largest domestic network and flies to 32 airports across Greece.

On his part, Fraport Greece’s executive director of Commercial and Business Development, George Vilos, applauded Sky Express’s decision to connect Chania with Athens this coming winter.

“This particular route comes to cover the need of connecting Chania with Athens and from there with all of Greece on an annual basis,” Vilos said, adding that Fraport Greece supports every effort that contributes to the further development of the Chania market.

Athens-Chania flights are available for booking. All fares include one piece of luggage and one handbag. All Sky Express passengers have free access to the airline’s VIP Lounge at Athens Internatioanl Airport.
