Executves from Dufry, Hellenic Duty Free Shops and Fraport Greece cut the ribbon at the Rhodes Airport.

Rhodes International Airport “Diagoras” recently celebrated the inauguration of its refurbished Hellenic Duty Free Shops, designed and inspired based on the local culture and specific characteristics of the Aegean island of Rhodes.

According to an announcement, the refurbishment is part of an expansion project undertaken by Dufry A.G. shops, the parent company of Hellenic Duty Free Shops, in order to offer a “world class experience” to all travelers visiting the airport.

“Our company has proceeded with the first phase of the complete reorganization of spaces and passenger flow to the new terminal. The result is the creation of three new stores of 1.466 m2, increased by 38 percent compared to previous spaces,” Hellenic Duty Free Shops CEO Yorgos Velentzas said during the inauguration ceremony.

Located in both Intra and Extra Schengen areas of the airport, the new shops are a modern and friendly shopping environment where travelers find a wide collection of international products, as well as local and traditional Greek products.

The three new shops include:

  • The Walkthrough Self Service, with a total commercial area of 1.074 m2, offering branded perfumes and cosmetics, among other products. The shop also includes the “Hellenic gourmet”, which is offering traditional dairy food and spirits from Rhodes and the rest of Greece.
  • The Luxury, with a total surface area of 146 m2, offering the latest trends in branded fashion items (watches, accessories, sunglasses, etc.).
  • Last Minute, with a total surface area of 246 m2, designed for “last minute” shoppers and offering a smaller collection of bestselling products such as perfumes, cosmetics and souvenirs.

The construction works were completed in a short period of time with the cooperation of Fraport Greece. “It fills us with great pleasure to watch our vision being realized. Very soon, all 14 airports managed by Fraport Greece will have commercial areas designed according to international standards,” said George Vilos, Executive Director of Commercial and Business Development at Fraport Greece.
