The Creta Maris Beach Resort, located on Crete, has been honored as a “TUI Umwelt Champion 2018” and also received the “TUI Top Quality 2018” award for its environmental consciousness and top-quality services.

The awards are provided by TUI, one of the world’s leading tourism organizations, given to recognize the best environmental sustainability practices of tourism enterprises and organizations around the world.

The “Tui Umwelt Champion” award is given by TUI based on strict criteria and ratings provided by guests to hotels that protect the environment and implement sustainability practices.

Furthermore, the “TUI Top Quality” award recognizes the quality of the holiday experience offered.

“The two awards are the result of the hard work of the Creta Maris team, which aims to satisfy our customers,” Creta Maris General Manager Nikos Vlassiadis said in an announcement.

“Our efforts for recycling, sustainable gardening and agriculture, energy conservation, as well as the promotion of the local culture and gastronomy, and the continuous improvement of our services year after year, have been awarded by leading travel organizations such as TUI. This is the source of our inspiration and provides us with the strength to continue offering our best every day,” Vlassiadis added.

The Sustainability Program of Creta Maris is the pillar of the resort’s operation, and is described in detail in the Sustainability Report published annually during the last five years.

The resort has also been awarded by the “Costa Nostrum – Sustainable Beaches” program for its private sustainable beach. Costa Nostrum is a certification standard recognizing the sustainable management and development of beaches in the Mediterranean.
