The sheep shearing is a big celebration inextricably bound with the farming lifestyle of Crete. It is called the “feast of sheep” and its purpose is to prevent the animals from suffering in the heat of the summer. The sheep shearing, which was held in the context of “We do local” philosophy, was organized for the seventh consecutive year on the beach of the resort. Through the “We do local” initiative, the guests have the opportunity to experience the everyday habits and activities of the locals. The Creta Maris Beach Resort is located in Hersonissos on the island of Crete. It is part of the Metaxas Group of Companies and has been operating since 1975.
