Air Travel Qatar Airways Extends Seasonal Routes from Doha to Mykonos by GTP editing team 9 July 2018 written by GTP editing team 9 July 2018 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 34 Following the launch of its new direct service from Doha to the popular island of Mykonos in the end of May, Qatar Airways has announced that it will extend the route until October 14. The route was initially planned to operate until the end of September. The direct service from Doha to Mykonos will operate four times a week – on Saturdays, Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays – as planned in the original scheduling. More specifically, from September 30, until October 14, flight QR 311 will depart from Doha at 8:05 am to arrive on Mykonos at 1.00 pm. Furthermore, flight QR 312 will depart from Mykonos at 2.00 pm to arrive in Doha at 6.40 pm. “We are thrilled with the further expansion of this successful route, which proved its dynamic within the first month of operation,” said Qatar Airways Country Manager for Greece and Cyprus Theresa Cissell. “With this development we confirm the trust we have showed in the market and the profound relation we have built with the country and the local partners, as well as the trust that passengers have showed us. We are looking forward to further enhancing this relationship, connecting Mykonos to Qatar Airways’ extensive global network and helping to open up and develop these attractive destinations for business and leisure travelers from around the world,” she added. Mykonos Island, Greece The four-weekly seasonal flights to Mykonos International Airport will be operated by an Airbus A320, featuring 12 seats in Business Class and 132 seats in Economy Class. Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of more than 200 aircraft via its hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA), to more than 150 destinations worldwide. The airline recently revealed a host of forthcoming global destinations for 2018-19, including London Gatwick, United Kingdom; Tallinn, Estonia; Valletta, Malta; Langkawi, Malaysia; Da Nang, Vietnam; Bodrum and Antalya, Turkey and Málaga, Spain. Qatar Airways has received the “Airline of The Year” title at the 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards, among other prestigious accolades.
