Announcements Applications Open for Tourism Training Programs in 13 Greek Cities by GTP editing team 13 July 2018 written by GTP editing team 13 July 2018 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 13 Waged-workers in tourism or short-term unemployed seeking to further their education in the field, will be able to apply as of Monday, July 16 for state-run post-graduate programs in tourism, following the approval of Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura and the publication of the decision in the government’s Diavgeia page. According to the published decision, the tourism and education ministries will be accepting for the 2018-2019 period 1,075 post-graduates in 44 tourism training programs. Elena Kountoura, Greek Minister of Tourism The study programs in reception service, culinary art, food, confectionery and home care will run for 380 hours and be offered in 13 Greek cities – Athens, Thessaloniki, Alexandroupolis, Katerini, Volos, Ioannina, Pyrgos, Kalamata, Corfu, Rhodes, Chios, Chania and Agios Nikolaos, Crete. Classes are set to begin in November this year and run for the next three years. According to the ministry, 20 percent of all positions will go to short-term unemployed. Waged workers in tourism (including hotels, casinos, F&B services or recreation) and short-term unemployed up to 55 years of age are eligible to apply.
