More specifically, the hotel received the TripAdvisor 2018 Certificate of Excellence for its high-quality services, while search engine trivago honored the hotel for its continuous high guest ratings in the “4-Star Hotel in Attica” category. With an overall score of 8.9 points, The Athens Gate also received the “Guest Review Award 2018” by online reservation platform Booking.com. The Guest Review Award honors excellence in accommodation services, based on the comments and reviews provided by the hotel’s guests. In addition, the hotel scooped two awards at the TripExperts Awards 2018, namely the “2018 Experts’ Choice Award”, the only accolade based on the advice of professional travel writers, and the “Best of Athens Award” for being an “outstanding choice” for accommodation in Athens. “With positive reviews from reviewers such as Oyster, Rough Guide and Frommer’s, The Athens Gate is among the Greek capital’s hotels with the highest score on TripExpert,” the hotel’s management said in an announcement. Furthermore, Hotels.com, a leading online provider of hotel accommodation worldwide, honored The Athens Gate with the “2018 Loved by Guests Award”, recognizing its excellent level of guest services. Moreover, the hotel was honored for its healthy growth, at the “Treasures of Greek Tourism 2017 Awards” organized by New Times Publishing. The Athens Gate hotel is located near the historic district of Plaka, opposite to the Temple of Olympian Zeus, 500 meters from the Acropolis and 100 meters from the New Acropolis Museum.
