As every year, the event will provide professional and amateur athletes, as well as sports fans, the opportunity to experience challenging routes and breathtaking views. This year’s motto “Andros Trail Race: The Island, the Culture, the Challenge” aims to promote the multi-dimensional character of the event and support the local tourism and culture. The 3rd Andros Trail Race includes four different races: the 24 km mountain race; the 10 km mountain race; the 5 km Run & Hike City Trail and the 1 km Kids race. The start and finish line are both at the Korthi Bay. “The 3rd Andros Trail Race includes routes for every taste and level in a dense network of various trails – cobbled, on dirt or with stairs,” an announcement said. A number of trails run through the “Andros Route”, which is 100 km long and has received the European quality certification “Leading Quality Trails-Best of Europe”. “The Andros Trail Race is a sports feast in the unique nature of Andros, where athletes get the change to run through traditional and picturesque villages, cobbled roads, impressive dry-stone walls (also known as kserolithies in Greek), wind- and watermills and stone bridges.” Parallel events include hiking tours on Andros’ trails, treasure hunts, museum visits, local culinary feasts and parties with music and dance. The 3rd Andros Trail Race is organized by Trekking Andros & Outdoor Activities, in collaboration with Andros KOINSEP, the municipality of Andros and the South Aegean Region. The Andros Trail Race is part of the Cyclades Trail Cup. To register press here. The Greek Travel Pages (GTP) is a media sponsor of the event.
