Company updates Istoria Hotel Invites Travelers to Create their Own Story on Santorini by GTP editing team 18 July 2018 written by GTP editing team 18 July 2018 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 15 The newly-established Istoria Hotel recently opened its doors on the island of Santorini, inviting its summer guests to “create their own story”. Located on Perivolos beach, on the island’s northeastern side, Istoria used to be an old “palazzo” owned by a noblewoman. Following extensive renovation work, the hotel today features 12 suites, each with a private balcony and in some cases a private jacuzzi or pool. Its name “Istoria” means history and story in Greek. “Istoria is more than a hotel… it is a refuge where the bright sun and the blue sea set you free… and allow you to create your own unique story,” the hotel’s management said in an announcement. The property’s architecture combines the traditional Cycladic style and impressive modern details such as white walls, wooden roofs, stone columns and floors, elevated structures, soft fabrics and vintage furniture among others, that “provide a sense of clarity in the simplicity of the space; an atmosphere of relaxation, joy and warmth”. Visitors can enjoy Santorini’s stunning sunset in the privacy of their pool, which consists of handmade grey and green tiles, reflecting the light like a kaleidoscope. Furthermore, Istoria’s restaurant, Mr. E, invites guests to indulge in Santorini’s fine wines and the unique flavors prepared by talented chef Alexandros Tsiotinis. The gastronomy options of Mr. E promote Greek tradition with a modern twist, and include Mediterranean flavors. “Every dish is a story… and a single bite can take you on a journey to the history of its ingredients,” which include local fresh ingredients, vegetables from the family biological farm and fresh fish. Istoria is a member of Design Hotels, a Berlin-based hospitality services company that markets some 300 independent hotels in over 60 countries, including Greece. Istoria’s owners Kalia and Antonis Eliopoulos, are also the people behind Santorini’s luxury hotels Mystique and Vedema. The property has been redesigned by Interior Design Laboratorium.
