Featuring over 1,100 photos and featuring facts on the history, the culture and the sites of the Ionian island, the 800-page e-book aims to make Internet visitors soon become real visitors! With origins dating back to the 8th century BC, the Old Town of Corfu is a perfect example of ancient Venetian and Byzantine art. “The Panorama of Corfu makes you ‘travel’ and ‘walk’ down the kantounia (narrow cobbled streets with stairways), ‘swim’ at its shores, ‘fall under the spell’ of the island’s beauties,” according to the e-book’s publisher Christos Antypas. Internet visitors will see fascinating photos of the island and its surrounding areas, including the Old Town (Campiello), the Old Citadel (Palaio Frourio), the Old Palace (Achilleion) and Pontikonisi. “Even through the Internet, a visit to Corfu is magic… If you visit this place once, you will surely desire to come back. Not only physically, but also with your mind and your soul,” Antypas says. The Achilleion Palace can be found in the Village of Gastouri, 10 km south west of the town of Corfu.
