During the forum’s first day, local authorities and academics will discuss on the “one-belt-one-road” development strategy, which is proposed by the Chinese government and focuses on connectivity and cooperation between Eurasian countries. On the occasion of the designation of 2018 as the Year of Cultural Heritage, the forum’s second day will focus on the destination of Samothraki and ways of promoting sustainable development and the island’s cultural heritage. Among the issues to be discussed will be the need for a strategy which will promote an holistic tourism experience on the island with active leisure and agrotourism activities; the use of new technologies and the funding of enterprises active in lifelong education.
