Liostasi Hotel on Ios to Hold Gastronomy, Wine Pairing Event

The luxury five-star Liostasi Hotel & Suites, located on the Cycladic Island of Ios, during August 30-31 will host a gastronomy event at its Grandma’s restaurant with Michelin-starred Greek chef Lefteris Lazarou.

“The two-day event will be dedicated to the sea aura of the Aegean,” the hotel’s management said in an announcement. “The five-course menu with wine paring, curated by Lazarou especially for the guests of Grandma’s restaurant, aims to elevate the senses and showcase the unique local ingredients.”

Among other dishes, the menu includes sea bass marinated with calamansi, with avocado cream, chilli and seaweed, paired with Karipidis Sauvignon blanc; squid with herring salad and “ntolmadakia” risotto with cuttlefish paired with Vassaltis Asyrtiko, and tuna wrapped in leaf crust, black sesame seeds, Florina pepper, tomato and soya paired with Whispering Angel Grenache-Rolle-Cinsault-Syrah–Tibouren.

“In the unique atmosphere of Grandma’s renovated verandah, where Cycladic architecture meets contemporary design, the sea and earth constitute the start for an inspiring menu where the Greek element is enriched with Mediterranean and exotic features,” the announcement said.
