According to the tourism ministry, a total of 30 students will be accepted into the Athens Tour Guide School and 834 at eight of its vocational training units across the country in Anavyssos, Heraklion-Crete, Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Corfu, Galaxidi, Alexandroupolis and the Peloponnese. Candidates interested in applying for the Athens Tour Guide School can apply either in person or via registered mail at the school’s premises (96-98 Alexandrou & Plataeon sts, Athens) daily from 9am to 2.30pm. Students seeking to apply for vocational training in tourism can submit applications in person at the secretariats of the IEK of choice daily between 9am and 2.30pm. Application and details here. The Athens Tourist Guide School reopened last year as part of the tourism ministry’s efforts to upgrade public tourism education in Greece. Greek as well as all Greek-speaking EU and non-EU nationals living in Athens can register for the school’s two-year program.
