The Skytrax Awards are considered the most prestigious accolades in the international aviation industry. Photo Source: @Lufthansa Lufthansa was named Best Airline in Europe and Best Western European Airline. Passengers from across the globe voted in favor of the German premium airline and thus also acknowledged the service provided by Lufthansa. Moreover, Austrian Airlines received the “Best Airline Staff Service in Europe” award and was announced champion in the “Best Business Class Onboard Catering” category. “We would like thank our customers for this vote of confidence and our employees for their commitment and customer orientation”, said Andreas Otto, Product Manager of the Lufthansa Group for the premium airlines and Chief Commercial Officer of Austrian Airlines. Market research institute Skytrax, specializing in the aviation industry, surveyed about 20 million passengers from more than 160 countries worldwide before announcing the winners. Passengers were asked to assess the airlines’ offerings on board the aircraft, as well as the services offered at the airports. Skytrax has been conducting the survey on an annual basis since 1999.
