Antonaros will report into Leonidas Zotos, Country Manager for Greece, Cyprus and Israel, and be based at Travelport’s office in Athens.

“I am delighted to welcome George to Travelport and work with him again after establishing the Worldspan operation in Greece together back in 1987,” Leonidas Zotos, Country Manager for Greece, Cyprus and Israel, said.

“The wealth of industry and commercial knowledge he has built with the agencies over the years, will be a great asset for Travelport,” Zotos added.

Before joining Travelport, Antonaros was General Manager for Top Kinissis Hellas, one the most prominent tourism organizations in Cyprus, where he was responsible for delivering a number of special projects to develop the agency influence in Greece.

Speaking about his new role, Antonaros said he is delighted to take on the new role at a time when the industry is going through such an exciting time of transformation and change.

“I remember very fondly my time with Leonidas and can’t wait to start working with the highly knowledgeable and experienced teams in Travelport. I am confident that together, we will help further cement Travelport’s leadership position in the local travel industry,” Antonaros said.

Antonaros has been the chairman of the Hellenic Association of Airlines Representatives (SAAE) since May 2017. Through this position he provides strategic commercial insights relating to airlines operating in the Greek travel industry to its members who represent 72 airlines out of the 118 operating in the country.
