The Region of Attica has unveiled its new tourism website – now live on www.athensattica.com– in an aim to attract a wide range of internet users, from residents and travelers, to journalists and professionals.

“The website offers a dynamic content with a number of links and has been developed in a modern environment, friendly for the user, in accordance with the Region’s strategic tourism promotion plan for the period 2016-2020,” the Region said in an announcement.

The site includes features published in international media outlets that refer to the activities of the Region’s tourism department such as familiarization (fam) and press trips.

It offers a daily calendar, in Greek and English, on upcoming cultural activities such as theater performances, concerts, exhibitions, as well as sporting events.

The new site also presents Attica’s lesser-known destinations through the promotion of each municipality in the region, aiming to attract domestic tourism.

Moreover, the site includes a press kit with articles and visual material on Attica and its tourism offerings, maps and tourism guides; can be connected with the application of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH) for an integrated tourism package of services, routes and experiences, and has access to the e-ticket service of the Culture Ministry for museums and archaeological sites.

“The website aims to become a tool for visitors from all over the world, offering interesting useful information in a simple, pleasant, modern and friendly way, even for people with poor vision. The content will constantly be upgraded, while we are planning to include information and content in four more languages,” the Region of Attica said.

Internet users can also follow the Region on social media – facebook, instagram, pinterest and youtube.

The website has been created by the Region’s tourism department in collaboration with the Attica Municipalities, regional authorities, tourism, cultural and sports bodies.
