SETE President Yiannis Retsos. Photo © SETE Scheduled to take place on October 16 at the Hilton Athens Hotel, the theme of the annual conference is “Tourism in Transition: #someTHINKdifferent”. SETE aims through the conference to make known internationally recognized practices for the promotion of destinations, new digital tools that contribute to business developments. Issues that lead to the gradual remodeling of the world tourism product will also be discussed. Speakers at the conference’s 2018 edition will include some of the most significant names in the intersection of tourism and technology who will address issues of innovation, digital skills, and the development of new tools that transform the way of travel into the era of the digital economy. Photo © SETE Keynote speakers will include Paul Papadimitriou, founder of Intelligencr; Iain McDonald, creative director of Quartz for Europe, the Middle East and Asia; Martin Boisen, co-founder and vice-president of The International Place Branding Association; Geerte Udo, marketing strategy manager – Amsterdam Partners, responsible for the Amsterdam’s city campaign; Signe Jungersted, development director of Wonderful Copenhagen, the official destination management and promotion organization in the metropolitan area of the Danish capital and David Bizer, founder and CEO of Talent Fountain. According to SETE, the two stages of the conference promise completely renewed content. The main stage will host keynote talks, fireside chats and panel discussions, while the second stage will feature interactive masterclasses.
