According to an announcement, the annual series organized by Congress & Business Planners with the support of the tourism ministry and the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), is planning events for its 2018-2019 series in Jordan, Qatar, India, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. Besides B2B meetings with participating tour operators, the workshops will also include presentations of Greek destinations to local tourism professionals and media. The 2018-2019 Greek Tourism Workshop program is as follows: Amman, Jordan – November 21, 2018 Mumbai, India – January 22, 2019 Beirut, Lebanon – February 20, 2019 Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – March 24, 2019 Doha, Qatar – April 10, 2019 The regions selected by Greek Tourism Workshop organizers were based on demand from local tour operators wishing to penetrate these markets. Indicatively, the number of Lebanese tourists visiting Greece in 2017 increased by 35 percent compared to 2016 with the upward trend set to continue into 2018. All the more travelers from Saudi Arabia are also seeking to visit Greece, as demonstrated by the number of visas issued which has doubled.
