Company updates Bluegr Hotels & Resorts Supports Battle Against Breast Cancer by GTP editing team 11 October 2018 written by GTP editing team 11 October 2018 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 12 Bluegr Hotels & Resorts for the first time participated in the Greece Race for the Cure running and walking event, which was recently held in Athens by the Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “Alma Zois”. “With a strong sense of social responsibility, the hotel group actively participated in one of the country’s largest street races, an international event which first began in 1982 in Dallas, Texas, and this year celebrates its tenth anniversary in Athens, aiming to raise awareness on breast cancer prevention,” an announcement said. Ten bluegr employees – men and women – participated in the 5km race, as well as the 2km walk. “The team of bluegr Hotels & Resorts celebrated life with thousands of other participants, and conveyed the message that prevention is the best ‘shield’ against breast cancer.” Aware of the importance of corporate social responsibility, bluegr Hotels & Resorts engages in a wide range of activities each year with the aim to offer to society and protect the environment. Within this framework, the group has created its own Blood Bank, while recently supported the victims of the wildfires in Mati by providing much-needed basic goods. As a member of the We Do Local program, bluegr Hotels & Resorts promotes local products. It also joined the celebrations for World Tourism Day that were held by the Municipality of Lasithi on September 27, and donated the event’s proceeds to charitable institutions in the region. Furthermore, the group actively supports the World Coastal Cleanup Day events. It should be mentioned that the beaches of its hotels on Crete have been receiving the Blue Flag for the past 25 years.
