As part of its environmental awareness program, the four-star Kalamaki Beach Resort, located in Isthmia near Corinth, recently held its second cleanup operation for 2018 in the area of Paleo Kalamaki.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness and introduce children and adults to recycling practices. More than 150 people, including hotel executives, locals and students participated in the environmental action and collected glass and plastic bottles, aluminum cans, paper and cigarette butts, giving the area a cleaner appearance.

A number of local associations and bodies also participated along with the initiative’s supporters: the “Evroproodos” training institute, the Experience Corinthia tourism network and The Scouts of Greece – Loutraki branch.

Students from the elementary and high schools of Isthmia also participated in the initiative.

The general manager of the Kalamaki Beach Resort, Marilena Stathopolou, who launched the environmental action, thanked all participants for the impressive outcome and informed that more activities would follow in collaboration with local bodies.

The Kalamaki Beach Resort is located one hour north-west of Athens, near renowned archaeological sites of the Peloponnese such as the Corinth Isthmus, the theater of Epidaurus, Mycenae and Nafplio.
