The Region of South Aegean is continuing its partnership with global TV network CNN International, aiming to promote the tourism offerings of the Cyclades and the Dodecanese to a wider audience.

As part of an agreement signed between the Region and CNN, an advertising video featuring the Greek islands will broadcast on CNN Airport and CNN EMEA, which have millions of viewers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Furthermore, CNN EMEA will broadcast a 60-second special vacation vignette, promoting the South Aegean Region as a destination.

The Region has been collaborating with CNN since 2015 to promote its islands and enter new tourism markets.

“We were the first Greek region to collaborate with CNN for the tourism promotion of the South Aegean, which is comprised of 50 different islands, including some of the most significant tourism brands in the world,” Vice Governor for Tourism, Sports and Culture Maretta Papavasiliou said.

Currently, a total of 373 million households watch the CNN International, while 890,000 hotel rooms have access to the program in the United Sates.

“CNN offers a combination of exclusive specialized services… We always look at the big picture and with a vision, strategy and systematic work, we try to provide our islands with the perspective they need and deserve,” Papavasiliou added.

The video featuring the South Aegean islands will broadcast from November 1 to December 31. The Region maintains the right to use it for future promotional activities.

The cost of the campaign will be covered by the South Aegean Operational Plan 2014–2020.
