Participants expressed increased interest in collaborations with Attica travel trade associations after a series of B2B meetings with international tour operators and suppliers, among these HelmsBriscoe, TripAdvisor, Booking.com, Expedia, CIT Tours and Europamundo.

In efforts to offer hands-on experience of the Attica tourism scene, regional authorities, in cooperation with the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (ADDMA), organized three fam trips parallel to the Travel Trade Athens event focusing on Eastern, Western and Southern Attica and including tours of the Athenian Riviera, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, vineyards in Markopoulo, as well as a visit to Ancient Elefsina for the presentation of “Eleusis – European Capital of Culture 2021”.

The Attica Region announced that it will be boosting its promotional activities in the months ahead to include Attica fam and press trips for international journalists and tour operators, participation in WTM London and Philoxenia in Thessaloniki, as well as the organization of a roadshow in Belgium and Holland.

In the meantime, the region is expecting 51,000 participants in the upcoming 36th “Athens Marathon. The Authentic”,  to take place on November 11 in Athens, during which it will arrange a series of promotional actions.
