Aiming to tap into the growing demand for city break holidays, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) in collaboration with Greek carrier Aegean Airlines, launched a new video campaign promoting Athens and Thessaloniki all year long.

The campaign, titled “Whatever You Love, Love it Here…”, is part of the tourism ministry’s ongoing promotional strategy targeted at key international markets and aimed at establishing Athens and Thessaloniki into leading year-round city break destinations.

The ministry’s promotional drive features city cultural, gastronomy, and entertainment options with an emphasis on romance, and will initially go digital in the UK, Germany, France and Italy – markets with no more than three hours flying time from Greece.

Indicatively, a recent study conducted by IPK International and commissioned by ITB Berlin, found that city trips worldwide grew four times as fast as the total international holiday market over the past decade overtaking Sun & Beach holidays.
