Funky Gourmet Restaurant to Move to Hilton Athens Hotel

The award-winning Funky Gourmet Restaurant will move its operations within the premises of the Hilton Athens hotel in early 2020, according to an announcement by the hotel property’s owner, Ionian Hotel Enterprises SA.

Hilton Athens logo“As part of its plan to upgrade the hotel’s facilities and introduce its guests to new products and services, Ionian is welcoming the Funky Gourmet to its new home,” the company’s management said.

The restaurant currently counts 10 years of successful operation in the district of Keramikos in the Athens city center. It has hosted guests from all over the world and won a number of awards including two Michelin stars and two Toques d’Or (Golden Chef’s Hat awards). Funky Gourmet will close its doors on January 5, 2019, to reopen in 2020 at Hilton Athens.

Ionian aims to re-launch Hilton Athens in the Greek and international market as a unique city destination product, offering top-quality infrastructure and services; luxury private residences linked with the hotel’s services; emblematic gastronomy facilities; and thematic commercial spaces.

“With a common philosophy, high aesthetics, flavors and hospitality, the two partners will create a new space that will preserve the values and experience of the Funky Gourmet,” the announcement said.

The premises of the Funky Gourmet in Keramikos will continue to operate as a laboratory for the menu’s preparation and a venue for private chef events.

Ionian Hotel Enterprises SA is active in the sectors of tourism, catering and real estate in Greece.
