Athens International Airport (AIA) continues to “travel” its passengers and visitors to some of Greece’s special destinations with its “Fly me to the moon” program that includes exhibitions, performances and cultural happenings.

Now in its 6th  season, the program is focusing on Greece and – under the title “Sounds Greek to me” – is honoring Greek destinations by promoting their natural beauties, multicultural identity, gastronomy, customs and distinctive character.

After mainland Greece and Chania, the four-season destination of Epirus in Western Greece is next to make a “stop” at the airport.

Epirus will “arrive” at the airport on Friday, November 23, from 12 noon until 4pm, giving passengers and visitors the opportunity to discover its flavors, art (jewelry and traditional silversmithing) and local music.

Furthermore, an exhibition of handmade silver products, held in cooperation with the Center of Traditional Industry of Ioannina, will promote Epirus’ distinctive tradition and its significance for the history of contemporary popular art

The next destination to be hosted at the airport will be the city of Kozani in northern Greece in December.

All “Fly me to the Moon” events take place at the airport’s Departures  – Entrance 3, between 12pm and 4pm.

“Fly me to the Moon” is a cooperation of Athens International Airport with the culture platform, ελculture.
