According to an announcement, the region’s efforts will focus on establishing the South Aegean as a distinct, attractive, authentic tourism destination and promoting each island’s identity. Marietta Papavasiliou “The Region of South Aegean has managed to leave its mark at major tourism exhibitions with its modern stands, which promote the islands in the best possible way. Tourism promotion is not seasonal. We work systematically 365 days a year to promote the special experiences that our islands offer,” said South Aegean Vice Governor for Tourism, Culture and Sports Marietta Papavasiliou. “Exhibitions that attract the interest of the international tourism industry are the best places for promotion and networking,” Papavasiliou noted. The Region’s stands will host local municipalities as well as entrepreneurs who wish to hold networking events. “Enterprises play a major part in the development of the tourism product, and through this common effort, I am sure we can achieve a lot,” she added.
