The announcement was made on Friday during ECTAA’s semi-annual meeting in Jerusalem. ECTAA delegates attending the semi-annual meetings are CEOs and Presidents of national travel agents’ and tour operators’ associations in Europe. According to ECTAA, Łódź, the host destination of the 2019 semi-annual meeting, is a prime example of how to successfully reinvigorate a city. The third largest city of Poland and dubbed the Polish Manchester, Łódź has been famous for its textile industry. The city has invested massively in recent years to redesign itself as an up-and-coming destination. Today, Łódź features fine Art Nouveau architecture, fascinating statues and monuments, rich history, numerous museums and the most famous Polish film school. Łódź City appears as the Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2019. “This meeting is an opportunity for European travel agents to get to know a new destination and empower them to better promote travel to Łódź,” ECTAA President Pawel Niewiadomski said ECTAA regroups the national associations of travel agents and tour operators of 30 European countries, of which 27 are within the European Union, and represents some 70.000 enterprises. It also has four International Members from Israel, Malaysia, Morocco and Tunisia. Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
