A case study that focuses on the way the sharing economy has affected the tourism market of Athens will be the main topic of the 1st BnB Guest Conference to be held on January 24 at the Wyndham Grand Athens hotel in the Greek capital.

Titled “The Best for the Guest”, the conference will offer insight on the effect short-term rentals have on the city’s operation, commercial life and competition, with the contribution of top market executives such as Thomas Caton, Chief Revenue Officer of AirDNA, the US-based provider of short-term rental data and analytics.

A keynote speaker of the event, Caton will present data on Athens’ and Greece’s position in the global home-sharing economy market. He will also offer information on the products and services offered by AirDNA to property owners and managers of short-term rentals.

“AirDNA’s presence will provide Greek tourism professionals with the unique opportunity to get information on the latest market trends and developments,” said Kostas Nostis, CEO of Smart Press, the organizer of the event.

Furthermore, the conference will examine tax and legislation issues that concern property owners and managers of short-term rentals and offer advice on the newly-established legislative framework.

In addition, tourism market experts will provide answers to questions regarding the management and operation of short-term rentals and ways of offering the best and safest experience to guests.

The conference will also host a presentation and a workshop by Booking.com, which will focus on the latest market trends and the solutions the platform provides to its customers.
