Creta Maris has Solidarity Actions High on Agenda

The Creta Maris Beach Resort, located in Hersonissos on Crete, in 2018 supported 15 organizations and bodies on the island through the offer of food, linen, electrical appliances and other equipment.

According to Creta Maris General Manager Nikos Vlassiadis people are the focus of the resort’s philosophy. “We believe that the contribution to social cohesion and the wellbeing of local society are prerequisites for the long-term sustainable operation of an enterprise,” he said.

Creta Maris last year contributed to the purchase of two lifts and other equipment for disabled people at the monastery of Panagia Gouverniotissa in Heraklion.

In summer 2018 and with the contribution of its guests and employees, the resort financially supported the non-profit organization “The Smile of the Child”, while for the Christmas and New Year holidays, Creta Maris donated 3,394.5kg of food to the organization, as well as to the Department of Social Protection, Education and Culture of the Municipality of Hersonissos.

Furthermore, as part of its environmental activities, the resort collected bottle caps and offered them to the “Association Right to Life” for the purchase of wheelchairs for people with disabilities.

Creta Maris’ actions also included the donation of 1,653 linen, as well as electrical appliances to a number of local organizations in 2018, including the Center for the Homeless of the Municipality of Heraklion; the Development Agency of Heraklion (offering temporary accommodation to refugees in collaboration with the UNHCR – the UN Refugee Agency); the General Hospital of Rethymnon and the General Hospital of Heraklion “Venizeleio”.
