The guide includes a map of the northern port city and the greater region, as well as the Metropolis magazine, which focuses on the tourism offerings of Thessaloniki and Central Macedonia. “It is the first time that a Thessaloniki travel guide is released in Hebrew for the thousands of Israelis that visit the city every year,” the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization said in an announcement. The guide is the result of a project initiated last summer, when the Eretz editing team visited Thessaloniki within the framework of a familiarization trip organized by the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization in collaboration with the office of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) in Israel. The Eretz team had then traveled around the city and the greater region to register routes associated with the Israeli history and gather information for the travel guide, map and magazine. Aiming to highlight the beauties and tourism infrastructure of Greece, the Eretz editing team has also issued printed travel guides on Athens, Crete, Meteora, as well as the area of Volos, Pelion and southern Magnesia.
