A total of 11.82 million euros will be allocated to 76 newly-established small- and medium-sized tourism enterprises (SMEs), the Region of Attica announced this week.

The investment plans have been submitted to the “Support for the Establishment and Operation of New Small and Medium Tourist Enterprises” 2014-2020 funding scheme, while according to a decision recently signed by Attica Governor Rena Dourou, subsidies for each eligible enterprise start from 40,000 euros and reach 200,000 euros.

“During the last four years, the Region of Attica has been supporting innovation, extroversion practices and entrepreneurship by promoting strategic partnerships with public and private sector organizations. This new initiative aims to further strengthen entrepreneurship in Attica,” the announcement said.

The Region has also announced the support of innovation clusters with a total of 6.6 million euros, through the Attica Regional Operational Program (PEP Attikis) 2014-2020.
