Greek Exhibitor TIF-Helexpo Promotes Family-friendly Thessaloniki 

As part of its far-reaching strategy to diversify, Greece’s national exhibitor TIF-Helexpo is looking into ways to expand activities and events held on the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) grounds to include children and families. 

“The child and the family are a priority in Helexpo’s developmental planning, and we believe that there is plenty of room for the development of recreational activities focusing on younger ages with an emphasis on learning and education,” said TIF-Helexpo CEO Kyriakos Pozrikidis.

Speaking to the Athens News Agency (ANA), Pozrikidis referred to the launch of the mythology park dedicated to the 12 Labors of Hercules, which was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura last September, and will run through to January 27, at Pavilion 1 of the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center.

For the first time on a world level, the 12 labors of Hercules are presented in 3D in a 2,500m2 area at the center’s pavilion 1, Pozrikidis said, adding that the Hercules theme park has attracted thousands of children from hundreds of schools across Greece.

Pozrikidis also referred to other family-oriented initiatives held on the exhibition premises, including the popular Chocolate Factory & Museum, the current Van Gogh Alive – Τhe Experience, the Dinosaur Park, and the Asterokosmos Christmas theme park, the country’s largest.

TIF facilities are ideal for families and kids, Pozrikidis points out, offering excellent accessibility for children and care services for parents.

Theme parks are “costly investments”, he admits, but adds that the aim is to widen the scope of TIF-Helexpo, attracting more tourists from Greece, and abroad, while contributing to the extension of the tourism season.
