‘Tool’ Revamps Website of Greece’s National Archaeological Museum

Greek digital marketing services company Tool has redesigned the website of the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, which is one of Greece’s largest museums and among the most significant in Europe.

“Tool was chosen to undertake the project due to its extensive experience in redesigning websites, especially for cultural institutes,” the company’s management said in an announcement, adding that the role of museums in enhancing the cultural identity of cities and increasing their tourism activity is significant.

The website of the National Archaeological Museum of Athens – www.namuseum.gr – has been redesigned with a contemporary style that is easy to navigate. “Taking into consideration the needs and behavior of internet users, it offers an enhanced navigation experience through a clear structure and simple design,” Tool’s management said.

Also mobile friendly, the website offers information on the museum’s permanent and temporary exhibitions, collections, events and educational programs in English and Greek.

Established in 1829, the National Archaeological Museum includes more than 11,000 exhibits, providing its visitors with valuable information on ancient Greek culture from prehistoric times until late antiquity.

Originally destined to receive all the 19th century excavations, mainly from Attica and other parts of the country, it gradually took the form of a central National Archaeological Museum and was enriched with finds from all parts of the Greek world.
