Aiming to promote the tourism offerings of Paros and attract even more quality visitors, the island’s municipal authorities have announced the launch of a new campaign for 2019.

“Our promotional model is in line with the international trends, which we closely monitor and adjust our strategy accordingly,” said Paros Mayor Markos Koveos.

The municipality’s program for 2019 includes its participation in 18 tourism exhibitions in Greece and abroad such as FESPO 2019 in Zurich; IMTM in Tel Aviv; Arabian Travel Market in Dubai; Seatrade Cruise Global in Maiami, and MITT in Moscow. Paros will also participate in expos in Milan, Berlin, London, Scandinavia and Paris.

“Our main priority is to preserve and promote the natural, architectural and environmental features of Paros,” he said, adding that the municipality aims to extend the tourism season but also avoid mass tourism, which tends to alter the character of destinations.

Other promotional activities of the municipality will include:

  • Paros’ promotion through digital media and new technologies,
  • Information and awareness activities for tourism professionals that aim to extend the tourism season,
  • The creation of audiovisual material on Paros’ religious and cultural events during Easter, and its promotion through Greece’s TV stations to the domestic market and via satellite to the US and Australia.
