The hotel’s founders Carolina Alkalai and Maria Mavroudi are holding the award (center). The Kallichoron Art Boutique Hotel, located on the island of Astypalea, was honored with the Gold Award in the “Best Boutique Hotel” category at the Greek Travel Awards 2019, held on Thursday in Stockholm, Sweden. The Greek Travel Awards aims to recognize the best practices of Greek tourism companies and destinations. According to an announcement, Kallichoron was honored for its unique services, offering authentic Greek hospitality to travelers. The award was received by the hotel’s general manager Maria Mavroudi during a ceremony, which was held at the Golden Hall in Stockholm. “This award recognizes the quality of the services offered at the Kallichoron Art Boutique Hotel. But, we won’t stop there; this distinction motivates us to work even harder to continue improving our tourist product and innovative services. We have love and passion for what we do,” Mavroudi said. The awards were presented by TV host Alexandra Paschalidou to an audience of leading Greek and Scandinavian tourism industry professionals. It is an event supported by Scandinavia’s largest tourism enterprises and tour operators, and sponsored by the largest media houses of the country”, said Leonidas Babanis, CEO of North Events, organizer of the awards. The Greek Travel Awards 2019 was held under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation (POX) and the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist & Travel Agencies (FedHATTA).
