Stavros Katsikadis “All the elected members of the Greek Marinas Association share the same vision to further enhance the position of marinas across Greece; provide them with the value the deserve within the country’s tourism sector, as well as highlight their potential for further investment and development,” Stavros Katsikadis said in announcement. According to Katsikadis, the association plans to intensify its efforts to create incentives and increase the competitiveness of Greek marinas. Within this effort, GMA in 2018 held the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference for the first time in Athens, which was attended by a number of prominent Greek and foreign professionals from the travel and tourism sector. GMA’s new Board of Directors was elected during the Association’s 14th general assembly and is as follows: President Stavros Katsikadis, Flisvos Marina, Vice President Ioannis Alexopoulos, Astir Marina Vouliagmeni, Secretary General Konstantinos Asvestis, Kalamata Marina, Treasurer Panagiotis Pappas, Alimos Marina and Aretsou Marina, Members Vasilios Tefas, Kleopatra Marina; Stavros Antonakas, Olympic Marine; Ioannis Koutsodontis, Zeas Marina. Photo Source: Greek Marinas Association The Greek Marinas Association consists of 21 developed tourist marinas and was established in 2010 to represent, upgrade and promote the tourist ports and marina facilities throughout the country. GMA’s main mission is the change and improvement of the national context of development, operation and exploitation of tourist ports. This a unique walled-in Byzantine city which attracts many visitors. Unfortunately we have a very poor marina, slowly developped over the years and yet neither completed nor managed. Could your Association have a look at it. A properly functioning marina would greatly enhance the area but also improve the services offered to the growing traffic of boats coming to our this wonderful destination.
