In its sixth year, the event is co-organized by the South Aegean Region and the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS) EAS Dodecanese branch, with the support of the Rhodes Municipality and the Rhodes Hoteliers Association. The 6th International Roads to Rhodes Marathon will be held under the auspices of both the Greek Tourism Ministry and the GNTO, while the race will be promoted through the organization’s website www.visitgreece.gr. “The attractive route by the sea and the walls of Rhodes’ medieval city have drawn the attention of runners from Greece and abroad, placing the island on the world map of sports tourism as the ideal destination 365 days a year,” the organizers said in an announcement. It should be mentioned that Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura and executives of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) last year participated in the event, within the framework of the “Run for Tourism” initiative of the South Aegean Region. Online registration is currently open for the marathon, half-marathon, the 10- and 5km races. For more information visit the website: www.rhodesmarathon.gr/en/.
