Organized by Boussias Communications for the sixth consecutive year, the Tourism Awards event aims to reward the best practices in Greece’s tourism sector. Tool was honored for the revamp of the official website of the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. “We are delighted to win an accolade for the second consecutive year at the Tourism Awards,” Kostas Karachalios, CEO of Tool said, also adding that the company aims to continue its successful course by addressing the needs of its customers, and upgrading the experience of internet users. The museum trusted Tool for the revamp of its website, which aims to offer an optimum presentation of its rich collection and access to visitos’ smartphones and tablets. According to Karachalios, the National Archaeological Museum project had been a challenging one for Tool, as the company had to revamp the website in order for its information and content to be properly displayed; become user-friendly and enhance the museum’s digital presence. “This required a detailed mapping of the Museum’s structure and content, and thorough research on the websites of some of the largest museums globally,” Karachalios said. Tool also had to take into consideration the different needs of visitors and the different kind of information they need to access. Therefore, the company created an appropriate navigation path for each group of visitors by reorganizing the online presence of the museum’s exhibitions based on their location. The new website of the museum is now fully accessible by fixed and mobile devices, also offering real-time content updating capabilities. This has attracted even more visitors to the museum and decreased the number of e-mails requesting help. In March 2019, Tool also won two silver accolades at the Greek Hospitality Awards 2019, which was held in Athens.
